Multimodal Discipline Model (MDM)
<
(500 words min.)

This final assignment will help you develop your skills in the arena of public scholarship. You will take your Inquiry-based Research Study – Literature Review and “translate” it for a new, non-expert audience. The Multimodal Discipline Model (MDM) should effectively deliver the same content/context, but in terms the general public can understand. Your MDM will be comprised of multiple “modes” of composition (auditory, visual/digital, written). The purpose of this requirement is to stretch your understanding of what digital writing practice looks like. More and more, composition requires understanding and skill in multiple modes. I have attached a number of resource links/examples to our class Bb page.

Chinese debt trap
<
Introduction
<
In international finance, the term debt-trap diplomacy is a term that describes a creditor country or any
<
other financial institution extending debts to a nation borrowing either partially or solely to raise the
<
political leverage of the lender. Financial institutions and governments extending excessive credit to a
<
given country are racing to achieve particular objectives. Their main intention is to extract economic or
<
political concessions when the debtor nation fails to meet repayment obligations. In most cases, the loan
<
conditions are made public, thus benefiting the lender. The borrowed money is usually used for materials
<
and expertise sourced from the creditor country (China). Although the debt trap is majorly associated with
<
China, it has also been applied to the IMF.
