For example: Pregnancy and Childbirth, Infancy, Toddlerhood, Early Childhood, etc • References must be in APA format. See www.owl.english.purdue.edu • Plagiarism is unacceptable. TurnItIn shows me all your sources and what percent of the paper is in your own words. If you quote a source, be sure to quote in APA format. If you cite a source, cite in APA format. Changing a few words does not make the information your own writing. This paper can easily be written in your own words. 2) Please cover the following information in each section of this paper: a) Nationality and cultural background of your fictional person. You will be assigned a country and/or city of birth for your person on the handout in class. You need to provide information about the cultural beliefs of that country, customs, childbirth practices, childrearing, etc. You should include information about the geographical location, language spoke, economy, religion, etc. b) Family background. Get creative here. Your fictional person needs a family. Describe their parents (names, ages, education, occupation, etc) and other family members (i.e., siblings, grandparents). Describe how the parents met and circumstances that led them to have the fictional person. c) Pregnancy and childbirth. You must include details about the pregnancy, prenatal care, testing, complications, labor and delivery that follows your fictional person’s typical/ more common circumstances in their country and/or city and culture. Include details about weight, height, general health at birth. You may choose to give your fictional person a genetic, chromosomal, or teratogenic abnormality or not. If you do, you must follow how this affects them in later stages of development. If you don’t “give” your fictional person any health or cognitive issues at birth, you will have to include another health obstacle at a later stage of development. d) After describing the above information in detail (about 2 pages), include the following information for each stage of development. Write 1-2 paragraphs for each bullet point and be sure to build upon what happened to your fictional person in previous stages. If you did not have your person face an obstacle at birth, you must choose at least one at one of the stages (i.e., car accident in early adulthood, diagnosis of ADHD in early childhood, stroke in late adulthood). You can choose to have your character face multiple hardships but you must document how this affects them at every stage and how they seek treatment (or not).
