You are the manager of a small recording studio that rents studio space to musicians and filmmakers, produces music videos and short films, and plans events for clients in the studio space. You are responsible for scheduling, maintenance of all equipment, collecting payment for services, paying vendors, and paying the employees. Your salary is a percentage of net profits.
< < A) It’s the last day of the month and the last day to calculate net profits. The main studio is rented for the day to a band who is recording their first album. You need the payment they will provide to have enough to pay vendors and employees and pay yourself. One of your employees approaches you just before the band arrives and tells you the sound system in the room has a glitch that may or my not affect the band’s recording. Do you tell the band and lose the money or let them go forward knowing the sound may not be perfect on their final cut? < < B) After you resolve the above dilemma, the band starts to record and your employees are at the music production keyboard. Your employee runs into your office horrified that every song of the Band’s lyrics offensively discuss violent images and the execution of all disabled persons from the earth. One of your employees is a parent of a disabled child and is in tears telling you the band should not be allowed to make their recording. What do you do? < < C) The next month is the worst month you’ve seen in the business. You’re not worried about your salary because you have savings and a solid schedule next month. They are paying you more money to use the studio than you have ever collected before. With the income from their rent, you’ll be able to pay your vendors in full. You’ll even have enough to pay your employees and give them each a well-deserved bonus for all their hard work. During production, you notice three child actors that are being encouraged to do illegal drugs during filming for a “realistic effect.” In fact, the entire production crew is taking illegal drugs and causing severe safety issues. The film contains explicit language and nudity and is set to film for 15 hours. You are shocked to learn that the parents of the child actors are in the room and unconcerned. You know if you mention anything to the highly anxious director who booked the space, he will explode and walk out, leaving you without enough money to pay your staff.
